Meesho, a service that sells and resells products from individuals and companies in India
Meesho is a social commerce platform that allows very small businesses and individuals to quickly start their own online store via social media such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram.
It was founded by two graduates from Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal from IIT Delhi. The platform was founded in 2015, but news came a few months ago when Facebook became the first investment in a startup in India.
Meesho has been very strong since its inception and was one of the three Indian companies selected for *Y Combinator in 2016.
*Y Combinator: A company in Mountain View, California, USA that provides support for entrepreneurs and newly established companies to grow their businesses, and mainly invests in startup companies.
By receiving money from Facebook, Meesho has become an outstanding player, and the platform is taking the next step. Headquartered in Bangalore, India, it currently employs around 750 people. Meesho's application has already been downloaded by over 10 million people, has a user-friendly interface, and is available in several regional languages in India besides English.
How to use the application is as follows.
• Applications are available in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
• After installing the application, you need to sign up for the platform using your phone number. The platform will be asked to verify the phone number through a one-time password.
• After the certification is completed, you can start selling/reselling products from individuals and companies through Meesho. The advantage of this service is that you don't have to have your own product. You can pick what you need from Meesho's product list and share it within your social media group.
• Meesho's platform already has a large number of products on offer, and its extensive product list allows you to browse the catalog to find and select products that friends, family, and others may want to buy. In addition, the product list will be updated from time to time on the platform, and new products will be added regularly.
• Share these products with your friends through social media such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and anyone in that group who wants it will send an order request to the person who is sharing it. The price of the product is set by Messho, and the shipping cost is free to the buyer.
• When an order request is received, the person adds his or her commission (commission) to the price of the item (item price, shipping cost (free to the buyer)), and the entire amount is given to the buyer. You will be notified of the overall cost. The referrer also orders the item from Meesho on behalf of the person who wants it. This commission will be directly profitable to the person who introduced the product.
• The service also handles Meesho's entire shipping process without letting you know that Meesho is involved. Buyers can cash on delivery or make online purchase payments. Upon successful delivery of the item, the commission will be remitted to the referrer's bank account.
• In addition, Meesho is designed so that referrals receive weekly cash bonus rewards from Meesho as more orders are placed.
